Technician: Explosives

Required Key Outputs:

Building and sustaining sound business relationships

Establish long term relationships with key decision makers and influencers on individual mines

Risk custodian of the opencast explosives business

Ensure technical services standards e.g. quality, compliance, data specifications, safe applications

Identify & report possible short comings in area of responsibility and ensure corrective action is taken

Develop suitable technical proposals based on practical and theoretical knowledge

Awareness of cost control in technical applications

Demonstrate the desired behaviours in agreement with Sasol Values

Apply the learning experience at the workplace

Identify optimisation opportunities

Share and implement new ideas regarding work

Improved customer relationships that lead to improved revenues

Improved team relationship that lead to high performance

High team collaborations that lead to high performance

Set up technical audits and reports for mines (Monthly)

Technical advice, order issues and complaint response (Daily)

Ensure smooth deliveries and respond to any shortfalls (Daily)

Qualification and Experience Required:

Must have Grade 12

Must have National Diploma Explosives and Explosives Applications

3-5 years’ experience in a mining explosives environment e.g. as a blaster

Must have a Surface Blasting Certificate, or underground blasting certificate.

Must be Computer literate

Must Have Sales & Marketing experience

Knowledge of Sasol products and applications

Must have a formal qualification in explosives application
