R813m to fund new ECD grant

Government has created a new Early Childhood Development conditional grant to help children from poor households to attend ECD centres, National Treasury said on Wednesday.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Arts and Culture and the Department of Basic Education will identify learning material and textbooks that will be translated into isiZulu.

Gauteng learners get free tablets

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi  has announced that as from next week, all the 2016 Grade 12 learners in Gauteng schools will receive their educational tablets.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) says it is strengthening ties with funders to increase access to higher education and training.

Cabinet has wished all learners who are writing their supplementary National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations the best of luck.
